Daniel Wilde is an Economic Advisor at the Commonwealth Secretariat. He leads the Commonwealth’s work on sovereign wealth funds, petroleum taxation, and the economics of deep-seabed mining. During his time at the Commonwealth, he has led projects in Guyana, Papua New Guinea, and Kiribati on extractive industry regulation, taxation, and revenue management. He has also assisted Commonwealth countries review and comment on the ISA’s mining code. Prior to working for the Commonwealth, Daniel was a Senior Economic Advisor on EU, DFID, FCO, and World Bank projects in Africa, Europe, and the Pacific. He has also published widely on extractive industry taxation and revenue management.
