A career bureaucrat and economist, she is presently, Economic Adviser (Additional Secretary Grade), in the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India. She is the Divisional Head for
-Economic Policy and Economic Regulation
-Air Cargo and Logistics
-GST and taxation
-Aviation Financing, including aircraft lease financing
-Regional Transport Aircraft and development of ecosystem for manufacturing aircraft in India
-Skill Development
-Competition Issues

She has been a trade negotiator for India on the Doha Development Agenda of the World Trade Organisation for about 12 years, covering among others Agriculture, Trade Facilitation, Customs Valuation, Rules of Origin, Information Technology Agreement, Disputes Settlement, etc. She has been a standing panellist for adjudications in the WTO’s Dispute Settlement Body.

She has served in various economic and social Ministries of the Government of India on economic administration and policy formulation since 1986, including Ministries of Commerce & Industry, Finance, Environment, Forests & Climate Change.

The topic she is presenting is a part of her Ph.D. thesis.
